In 2008 I qualified as a plasterer and started my career self employed. I found myself working in the commercial and residential sectors, covering all aspects of plastering. To keep up with the evolving industry I have enrolled on various courses over the years.
Currently I am working on a commercial project as a site manager, I have been in charge of many trades involved in the construction of a dialysis unit. As a qualified NVQ assessor I have also been putting together portfolios to help up skill the workforce and allow them to gain relevant qualifications to help meet the changing standards across the UK construction industry.
Working in the construction industry is still high on my agenda. The future will see me moving into the management sector of construction, while also offering the added benefit of having a trade background and the ability to offer support and expertise in training of the workforce to the standards required.
